steam motorcycles

As you would image in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s if the idea of putting a steam engine in a car had been tried then why not put a steam engine in a bicycle??

The one thing that you must immediately realise with this idea is that this means literally sitting on the engine – which I can tell you from experience is ‘hot’!!!
There were a few attempts at steam motorcycles – none ever really taking off as well as the car.

Go to our Field Motorcycle page for an in depth look at the restoration of a Field Motorcycle that was challenged to go round the wall of death.
