Water - on the road
While most of us can manage smiling at a pub landlord or a helpful member of teh public please take note of the information below.
NSCA have recieved this useful information from Thames Water - please take note
If you are attending any rallies or steam events within the Thames Water Utilities boundaries and need to abstract water from a fire hydrant, this requires a licence. A licence is required before abstractions.
Members should note that they may incur charges if the correct procedure is not followed.
NSCA has a copy of thier basis of charge leaflet, an application form and terms & conditions and a boundary map for the Thames Water Area, availble on request from the events officer or online from the link below.

Stanley Flooring Material - Linoleum.
After some research, I established that the original flooring that was mainly used in the Stanley's of 1910 (ish), date of my car, was produced by a Frederick Walton who was producing linoleum as early as 1863. The exact same material is available today from Forbo Nairn or www.forbo-flooring.co.uk as their Business Walton collection and is available 2m wide and 2.5mm thick in various solid colours. They have various distributors across the UK.
Also, for those interested, the linoleum was attached to the floorboards by 3/8" brass nails, about 1.5" apart. (I have the original to go by).

Recently I had a new Stanley gauge returned under complaint. I found that indeed it was not right. Unfortunatly the owner had been rather brutal externally and had opened it, rummaged in its giblets there by negating any sort of guarantee.
I was a bit, just a bit you understand, reluctant to repair, fit a new movement and recalibrating. The owner refused to pay so I returned the gauge to him.
Moral: "If its broke don't try to fix it, leave it to the experts".
